Ditch The Loyalty Cards
People already have enough in their wallets – payment
cards, various licenses and cash – and they don’t want
bulky loyalty cards in there. If a piece of paper or
plastic is the basis of your loyalty program, it’s
doomed to failure because most people won’t use it.
Instead, take advantage of your POS customer lookup
functions. Customers can be identified by any details
that they choose to share with you such as their name
and phone number. Make that the basis of your loyalty
program instead, and your customers will thank you. If
your loyalty program is easy to use, more people will
use it, and therefore more people will shop habitually
in your store.
