Retail Hero’s Catalog View is a customized add-on designed for the retailer’s ease of processing customers at the point of sale.
This graphical interface that integrates seamlessly with Microsoft RMS can display multiple inventory items with pictures that allow the retailer to identify items easily and accurately. It is also ideally suited to touch-screen applications for even faster service.
The screenshot shown here depicts a gourmet chocolatier who sells chocolates by the box and also individually. Multiple screens have been created so that the retailer can view his chocolates by the box or also on an individual basis. To order, the retailer simply selects the picture of the item shown on the screen and quantifies it with the calculator buttons on the right. Once ready to process the transaction, the retailer simply presses the button “To POS” and returns to the regular RMS transaction screen where the sale can be tendered as normal.
The main application for Catalog View is in the retail industries that deal with a limited number of items that do not have barcodes and therefore are not scannable at POS. The solution is to have digital pictures attached to them in RMS. The cashier rings up an item by simply clicking on a button that has the item's picture attached to it. The user interface is similar to that of a simplified Restaurant POS. The add-on is suitable for:
